During the 2022 FESTA Dinner, the BTS members announced that they are currently planning to focus more on solo activities. According to a HYBE statement, this does not mean the group will be on hiatus.

Then at the dinner, BTS rapper Suga asked the other members if they should talk about why they were on hiatus. BTS speaks in Korean, and the word hiatus is used in the English translation of the video. However, Suga's words can be interpreted as off season or off period alias rest in Indonesian. Therefore, the agency said that RM and friends will remain busy working on projects both as a group and individually.

"I promise BTS will come back again one day, and we will be more mature than now," said Jungkook, in a video uploaded on Tuesday (15/6/2022) night.

As is known, in South Korea, all able-bodied men are required to serve in the military for about two years. Jin, the oldest member of BTS, according to the rules that are still in effect, must serve in the military no later than December this year.

After the announcement, the Twitter universe was filled with posts from BTS fans around the world. Overall, the fans seem supportive.

One tweet said, "I know it's hard to accept BTS' hiatus but their happiness is the most important. They should be given the opportunity to explore the world and find themselves as individuals."
