On 12-17 November, the city of Sydney, Australia will once more be playing host to the Electronic Music Conference, the leading industry conference for dance and electronic music professionals working in the far east and Australasia.
Like most similar events, Electronic Music Conference (which launched in 2012) has both a 'work' side and a 'play'. On the work side, attractions this year include a one-day forum on the Monday 12 November entitled Global Cities After Dark, which will look at best nightlife management practice in cities worldwide, as well as two days of all the usual usual panel discussions, keynote addresses, seminars and workshops on Wednesday 14 and Thursday 15 November. Speakers will include Sasha, Gilles Peterson, BLOND:ISH, Greg Wilson and ocal hero FlaxMami, as well as representatives from leading events companies, DJ agencies and so on.
But there's also the ' play' side, which will see five nights of parties taking place across the city - all helpfully branded 'EMCPLAY' - culminating in the Brazilian-themed Rio Ravel on Saturday, which will see Sasha playing a three-hour set and Greg Wilson headlining a separate Credit To The Edit the stage for the disco lovers, aided and abetted by Late Nite Tuff Guy and more.
