The Ministry of Information and Culture of Nigeria informed via Twitter that it has banned the use of foreign models, as well as voice actors in various mass media.

This step was taken after all this time the advertisers in Nigeria were always white people with British accents. The plan is that on October 1, white and non-Nigerian models will be banned from appearing as advertising models there.

According to the head of the Nigerian Advertising Agencies Association, out of 200 million people there, there should be natives who are suitable to be advertising models. That is why Nigeria finally issued this ban.

In fact, companies are still allowed to use the services of white and non-Nigerian models. But there are fines or additional fees that they have to pay so that the ad can be raised in the Nigerian mass media.
